In the work of Lucy + Jorge Orta, vitrines are designed to draw our attention to a specific subject or issue, often containing photographs or metaphorical objects suspended from the structures. Inside this vitrine is a photograph taken during the artists' 2009 expedition to the Amazon. The image, water gourds, containers, floats and glass bottles, make reference to the artists longstanding research focus on water and species scarcity.
