In the work of Lucy + Jorge Orta, vitrines are designed to draw our attention to a specific subject or issue, often containing photographs or metaphorical objects suspended from the structures. Inside this vitrine is a photograph taken during the artists' 2007 expedition to the Antarctic. The water gourds, containers, floats and the specially designed OrtaWater glass bottles, make reference to the artists longstanding research focus on the subject of water.
