The twenty-seventh Act of 70 x 7 The Meal was staged at the Albion contemporary art gallery in London in collaboration with New Philanthropy Capital and Time Magazine as a closing performance for the group exhibition The Politics of Fear. Based on the Chinese symbol of infinity, 99 guests including artists, media, charities, collectors, curators, philanthropists, political figures and lawyers were invited to dine within the exhibition and discussions were focused around the curatorial themes of the exhibition: displacement, torture, refugees and violence. Each guest was offered a limited edition Royal Limoges porcelain dinner plate by one of the seven participating artists: Reza Aramesh, Xu Bing, Shilpa Gupta, Kendell Geers, Lucy + Jorge Orta, Rashid Rana and Avishek Sen. Proceeds from the evening were donated to The Medical Foundation for the Care of Victims of Torture, Forward Thinking, Asylum Aid, Information Centre about Asylum and Refugees, and Bail for Immigration Detainees.
