Modeled after parachutes used in humanitarian expeditions to rapidly distribute vital supplies, Orta's Drop Parachutes are made from flags of different nations. Fragments of clothing and the objects descending from the skies refer both to humanity’s physical and material survival as well as its spiritual needs, particularly the recovery of solidarity. The parachutes become objects of textual communication, with slogans and words related to the themes of the artists’ works on their surfaces.
