The Nexus Architecture performances manifest the power of collective action, where collaboration is necessary for the harmony of the community. Here, each child becomes part of the collective sculpture, a new multi-faceted, multi-limbed formation joined together in a single human network, sharing a common space and a common goal. Another wonderful reminder of our interconnectedness and the strength of cooperation.
This performance in the main square of Cholet in France was realised over several months with parents and children engaged in workshops exploring the UN Declaration of the Rights of the Child. It was made possible by the public engagement team at the Museum of Art and History of Cholet in 2002. The work travelled to the Florida Atlantic University, where further workshops resulted in an exhibition in the Miami design district during Art Basel Miami.
