The performance Casey's Pawns was originally commissioned by the Victoria & Albert Museum London on June 24, 2004, five days before the hand-over of sovereignty to the Iraqi government and the start of the withdrawal of US and allied forces. In protest against the ongoing conflict in Iraq, Lucy Orta invited fifty student volunteers to re-perform this passive peace demonstration in the streets of Praque, for the 11th Prague Quadrennial in 2007.
