For the Jing’an International Sculpture Project 2024 curated by UCCA Lab, Lucy + Jorge Orta have created Genius Loci Watch Tower—a new commission from the Genius Loci series. Installed in the Jing’an Sculpture Park in Shangai, a human figure perched on a watch tower represents the ‘spirit of the place’ traversing time, past, present, future, shaping cultural, social and ecological transitions.
